Since writing my last post on November 6th, life has continued to be as full as ever – but somehow I managed to squeeze in time for a little escape. And by “a little”, I mean I devoured an entire book series in what felt like a blink.

I read The Rose Hill Series by Elsie Silver – every single book- and I loved it.

I tend to bounce around between different genres, but let me tell you… this is exactly what my heart needed: happy, a little cheesy (but not too cheesy), and full of flirty, feel-good romance. The kind that makes you smile at your book, blush, and kick your feet with that giddy, gut wrenching feeling you only get from a really good love story. It reminded me just how much fun reading can be when a story clicks.

Once I started the first book, I was gone. I couldn’t stop. I could already tell I would fly through this series in a heartbeat. When a book grabs my attention that quickly, I dive in headfirst. I get so invested in the characters – their feelings become my feelings, their story becomes my little escape.

You know that feeling when a story completely takes over? When you stay up way too late, promising yourself “just one more chapter”, even thought you know full well you’re about to finish the whole book if you can keep your eyes open? That was me. Every night.

Elsie Silver’s world just pulled me in so deeply. The small- town charm, the swoon-worthy characters, the emotional depth – it all felt like wrapping up in a cozy blanket and falling in love right alongside them. I could even relate pieces of their relationships to my own. Each story connected to the next in the sweetest way and every couple made me fall for this series even harder.

I was reminded why I love the romance genre so much. It’s emotional, comforting, and so deeply human. Sure it’s often predictable – but that’s part of the magic. You know there will be heartbreak, but you also know there will be healing… and of course a happy ending. That’s why I keep coming back to romance. It’s not just about love – it’s about hope.

When I’m busy, a good romance just hits differently. When the world is loud, a good love story is soft. I think I’m drawn to it because it’s a reminder of all the best parts of life – connection, laughter, vulnerability, warmth. Romance novels remind me that even through chaos, there’s beauty in the small things: the morning coffee, the late night conversations, the little moments that make us feel seen and held.

And honestly? I’ll always be a hopeless romantic. I love love – always have. The tension, the banter, the slow-burn ache before the confession – give me all of it.

So while The Rose Hill Series may have set the bar high, I’m definitely not stopping there.

I immediatly picked up another series by Elsie Silver – Chestnut Springs. I’m probably reading these series out of order, but that;s okay. It’s another small-town, country-romance universe, and it already feels perfect. There’s something so comforting about staying within the same world – familiar tones, similar themes, new faces, and fresh storylines. You even see characters pop up from book to book, and I love that interconnected feel.

I adore when an author can build a world you don’t want to leave, even after the last page.

This past week also reminded me that I don’t always need to chase the “serious” reads or the popular titles everyone is talking about. I don’t need to push myself through book that don’t match my season. Sometimes I just need a story that feels like sunshine – something joyful, emotional, and easy to love.

Reading isn’t about checking titles off a list. It’s about feeling something.

And lately, I’ve been feeling a lot of love, gratitude, and maybe a little bit of fictional heartbreak – the best kind, if you ask me.

So here’s to finding new favorites, letting ourselves read for comfort, and never apologizing for loving a happy ending.

And if you’ve got a romance series that completely swept you away – drop in the comments.

I’m always looking for my next cozy obsession!
